UNADILLA – March is here, and with that comes the Rotary Club of Unadilla’s annual Pie Night, happening Thursday, March 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Unatego Junior/Senior High School. Please note: this is a new location.
The change of location, Rotarians said, will mean two serving lines and more room for diners.
Pie Night attendees can expect pies sweet, savory and everything in between. Rotarians are cooking up classics such as chicken potpie, shepherd’s pie and taco pie alongside vegetarian and gluten-free options. Take-out will be available.
To keep diners entertained, live music and singing will be provided by Rotarian Joe Tokarowski and local musician George Lesh, with help from Unatego student performers.
After introducing a raffle year, there will again be gift baskets to bid on.
Also returning to Pie Night will be the dessert pie contest. Any baker wishing to enter his or her favorite dessert pie should plan on submitting two pies—one for the judges and one for public tasting and voting. The winner receives bragging rights, plus the Unadilla Rotary’s Golden Spatula Award. To download an entry form, visit unadillarotary.org.
Additionally, find ‘Unadilla Rotary Pie Night is Coming!’ on Facebook.
This pre-spring staple in the village gets increasingly popular each year, so tickets tend to sell quickly; anyone interested in attending should seek out a local Rotarian, call 369-3008 or stop by Otego Family Dental or House of Consignment in Unadilla to purchase tickets. One ticket admits one adult and one child under 10.
All proceeds from Pie Night benefit youth programs in the Unatego Central School District such as Rotary Youth Exchange, Rotary Youth Leadership Award scholarships, the National Honor Society dinner and free children’s activities at the club’s annual Autumn Fest.
Don’t miss this chance to get a slice (or two or three…) of the pie!
