GILBERTSVILLE – The Otsego County Pomona Grange presented its Granger of the Year Award to Bob Evans and Barton Snedaker, members of the Butternut Valley Grange, on Saturday, June 16.
The award was presented at the county picnic at Borst Field in Schenevus, with 35 Grangers and guests attending.
Evans serves as the Otsego County Pomona Grange and Butternut Valley Grange treasurer. Snedaker has served on the Pomona Executive Committee for years and was recently installed as Pomona Master. He also fills the position of lecturer for the Butternut Valley Grange.
Evans and Snedaker are active in many aspects of Grange, helping with dinners at the hall, degrees, fair exhibits and the foodstand at the Otsego County Fair.
Evans is a former member of Norwich Township Grange. He and Snedaker joined Butternut Valley Grange in December 1995.
They are both leaders on the State Grange level, with Evans belonging to the State Grange’s Education and Cultural Foundation and Snekader State Grange’s Leadership and Membership Director. This year, they are part of the hosting committee for the State Grange Session taking place in Oneonta this October.
